Emotional Self-Healing

Just as the body is essentially a self-healing organism, so the mind knows how to heal itself if we would but learn how to listen to it.  It speaks to us through our dreams, through our emotions, through our fantasies...  An Inner Journey into the mind teaches us how to attune and flow with the oftimes wacky ways of our subconscious mind.  It helps us to understand how the contents of our inner world affect our outer lives and, through awareness, gives us creative tools to consciously change those effects which we find undesirable...

Most of our lives are spent in unconscious reaction to the contents of our subconscious mind; the focus of an Inner Journey is on conscious interaction with said contents, the result being greater awareness and empowerment.  Various creative techniques are used to facilitate this interaction.  The journeyer is encouraged to interact with just about everything he/she encounters on his/her inner path:  people, animals, symbols, objects...  Sometimes a specific person is sought out for communication perhaps someone with whom we have difficulty, or who has died, or who has moved far away...  Sometimes a specific scene from the journeyer's past is revisited, for an insight it may reveal, or for the purpose of "making it better..."  Sometimes an Inner Guide (such as the Inner Healer) is sought out to assist the journeyer with his/her particular problem...  Sometimes it is useful to separate the difficult parts of our personality into separate "people" or "characters" (called subpersonalities...) and interact with each one's agenda to assist us in becoming whole and making decisions...

"know thyself--
an unexamined life is not worth living."
Please remember that, in the subconscious mind, "imagination" is "real," and the "time" is always NOW...  That's what allows these techniques to work, and it's also what allows our subconscious mind to make us "sick," emotionally and physically...  An inner conversation with someone who died five years ago can ease our pain; an unresolved difference with that person, kept locked away inside us, can be a hidden source of physical or emotional pain...  A vivid, conscious, positive reconstruction of a traumatic childhood event can make us feel "better," even at age 40, 50 or older; the same event, left unattended to, can have a deeply painful and undermining effect on our life...  Meeting our angel, our totem animal, our inner wizard, our knight in shining armor within, can transform our outer lives in many ways and spare us from over-dependence on others for protection, guidance and love...  Seeing all the varied parts of our personality interacting with each other on the stage of our "inner world" can promote greater self-understanding and greater ease in decision-making; left to their own devices, these parts of ourselves will just continue to bicker, creating endless inner conflict, turmoil and irresolution...

And so it behooves us to consciously interact with the contents of our subconscious mind.  I have a saying, often true:

"If you don't deal with it, it deals with you!!!"
